Bluetooth 4.0 May Be Use By Next Iphone

Before this, Apple is rumour to use NFC in the next iphone 5/S but now rumour has it that instead a 4.0 Bluetooth will be use. The Bluetooth 4.0 debut yesterday on Apple products, namely the MacBook Air and the MacMini.

Apple chose to bypass Bluetooth v3.0 + HS altogether and move from the four year old v2.1 + EDR (as used on current Apple products like the iPhone 4 and the Macbook Pro range circa 2011) to Bluetooth 4.0, becoming the first manufacturer to do so.

The core feature of Bluetooth 4.0 is its "Bluetooth Low Energy" or BLE technology, which allows Bluetooth devices to communicate at around half the peak power consumption of the "classic" Bluetooth (down to one hundredth depending on usage), and is designed from the ground up to be used in devices powered by small, coin-cell batteries.

Other characteristics include a much longer range (up to 200m), 128-bit AES with Counter Mode CBC-MAC and application layer user defined security, a 6ms latency (compared to up to 100ms for the Classic Bluetooth).

The weak point of BLE though remains its transfer rate which is as low as one tenth of the full fat Bluetooth. But Bluetooth 4.0 offers the possibility to toggle between low power or high power modes, just like changing CPU speed in mains mode or battery mode.

Second Quarter, Nokia Loss Profit

Nokia has post negative result about second quarter of this year, a loss of €368 Million and 32% Drop in Smartphone Sales. The company, which had posted profits of Euro 227 million in the same quarter a year ago, informed that the sales fell by 7 percent to Euro 9.3 billion. Nokia had already predicted a poor second quarter due to a drop in sale. The loss of sale is due to Android and Apple popularity and now they join force with Microsoft to make up the loss,

“The challenges we are facing during our strategic transformation manifested in a greater than expected way in Q2 2011m,” Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said in a statement.
“However, even within the quarter, I believe our actions to mitigate the impact of these challenges have started to have a positive impact on the underlying health of our business. Most importantly, we are making better-than-expected progress toward our strategic goals,” he added.
Despite the poor quarter, Nokia maintained that its smartphone and mobile phone divisions were moving ahead as planned.

The F-07C runs Windows 7 Home Premium and features a 4-inch LCD at 1024 x 600. Since this is still a smartphone, after all, look for a 5.1-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facer.

Weighing-in at 218 grams and measuring just under 20 millimeters thick, the F-07C is slightly bulkier than your average smartphone, but the versatility and huge software library it offers should more than make up for its size. Who cares about mobile Flash Player when you can just install the real thing? Running Windows 7 does come at a cost, though, with the smartphone's battery only packing enough juice for about two hours of Windows action before it calls it quits. This phone head to NTT Docomo Japan, its homeground and no pricing is available yet but its expected later this week
