HTC Desire Won't Get Gingerbread?

HTC has just announced that they won't bring the orginal HTC Desire to the Gingerbread, why? Well HTC has no explanation but in comparison, HTC has manage to bring other HTC smartphone which some has less RAM into the Gingerbread Family and before this the HTC Desire has get some Gingerbread leaked. HTC says that if they bring the Desire to the Gingerbread family, they will destroy the Sense experience in the Desire but if says that they didn't care about the Sense will those people get Gingerbread? Just my opinion though
