Leap Intros Cheaper Data Plans as COO Exits:
Leap Wireless recently refreshed what it charges customers for mobile broadband service. The company introduced a new top-teir plan that includes 8GB of data for $65 per month. Leap now also offers 4GB for $45 per month and 2GB for $30 per month. All three plans are capped, and users will be throttled if they exceed their monthly allotment. The mobile broadband plans max out at speeds of 1.8Mbps on its 3G network are aren't yet available to Cricket's LTE-equipped devices. In other Leap Wireless news, the company reported that COO Raymond Roman will leave the company effective July 31. The company does not intend to replace him, and will eliminate the position. No reason for the departure was provided.
