"Extended Cut" for Mass Effect 3 hits Tuesday, June 26

"Extended Cut" for Mass Effect 3 hits Tuesday, June 26:
Just when you thought the drawn out controversy over the ending to Mass Effect 3 had finally died down, Bioware has officially set a date to open the wound again with a free "Extended Cut" of the game coming as downloadable content on Tuesday, June 26.
BioWare stresses that the new Mass Effect 3 content, first promised back in April, "does not fundamentally change the ending" of the game, as some outspoken Internet protestors have been demanding for months. Rather, today's official announcement says that the download "provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for... gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series [and] shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings."
After downloading the 1.9GB "Extended Cut" file to their PC, PS3, or Xbox 360, players will be able to load a save just before the end of the game to play through the new content. Bioware says that decisions made throughout the series will affect the way the Extended Cut content plays out, and that multiple playthroughs will be needed to "experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content."
