Nintendo hasn’t yet announced when you’ll be able to sit a Wii U beneath your television, and pricing is still a mystery too, but the company has gone into detail regarding its launch lineup at E3. There are a handful of Nintendo properties, as expected, but there are some interesting third-party titles that will be available on the console too, including some fan favourites.
Here’s the full list from the E3 announcement:
- Pikmin 3
- New Super Mario Bros. U
- Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition
- Scribblenauts Unlimited
- Darksiders 2
- Mass Effect 3
- TANK! TANK! TANK!
- Tekken Tag Tournment 2
- Trine 2: Director’s Cut
- Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge
- Aliens Colonial Marines
- Wii Fit U
- Sing!
- LEGO City: Undercover
- Just Dance 4
- ZombiU
- The Avengers: Battle for Earth
- Assassin’s Creed III
- Rayman Legends
- Rabbids Land
- YourShape: Fitness Evolved 2013
It was to be expected that franchise staples such as Mario and Pikmin would make a return, but it’s interesting seeing some grittier titles make the grade, such as Batman, Mass Effect, Ninja Gaiden, and Aliens. Nintendo has been critized in the past for being a bit too family friendly, with not enough games for a broad audience, something the company may be hoping to correct this time around.
The Wii Fit will also make a return, not surprising considering the sales figures. Nintendo say that 43 million copies of the Wii Fit and Wii Fit+ have been sold around the world in total, so the company is evidently keep to capitalize on that success with its next console too.
