The Windows 8 release candidate is being disassembled as we speak, and an interesting bit of code in mscorlib.dll has popped up.
The Compatibility Switch IsAppEarlierThanWindowsPhone8 of course suggests that there will be some compatibility with Windows Phone apps in Windows 8.
Of course it may just be left over from shared code in Windows Phone 8, which we know will in fact be compatible with Windows 8.
Still, a quick 100,000 apps would be a quick and easy way to goose the windows 8 app ecosystem.
