It appears that Ubisoft has big plans for their recently announced, hacker-centric franchise Watch Dogs, as the publisher registered domains last month that allude to an impending feature film.
Thanks to a spotting by Fusible, we know that Ubisoft has registered the following domains: WatchDogsthemovie.com, WatchDogsmovie.com, Watch-Dogsmovie.com and Watch-Dogsthemovie.com. The company hasn’t made any official announcements about plans for a film, and considering the fact that Ubi is believed to be working on getting film adaptations for Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell green lit, there’s a lot hanging in the balance.
You can be sure of one thing though, if we do eventually see a Watch Dogs film, it’ll be a while before it actually becomes a reality. The game itself isn’t scheduled to release until late 2013 and based on what we’ve seen, it looks an awful lot like a next-gen game.
