Fujitsu Readying 10″ Android Tablets?

Fujitsu Readying 10″ Android Tablets?:

Fujitsu has not quite made its name on the market as a manufacturer of Android-based products. This year, however, the company will try to change things. According to a leaked confidential document containing the Japanese firm’s planned product releases for the year 2012-2013, Fujitsu is preparing at least two Android tablets. These two devices will both run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will have displays that measure 10.1 inches diagonally. It is unknown, nevertheless, if these tablets will make their way to the United States, or be targeted only at the Japanese market.
The first tablet, dubbed the Bacura, is a high-end tablet that features a water-resistant chassis. The same water-resistant technology is currently found on Fujitsu’s recent smartphones. The confidential roadmap reveals that this tablet is slated to be released in the first quarter of this year. Thus, consumers can probably expect that this tablet will hit the tablet market soon. Yet, one should also consider that in Fujitsu’s roadmap, development for the Bacura tablet has just started a few months ago. At the very least, Fujitsu might announce the existence of this tablet to the public this coming summer, possibly around the end of this month.
The second tablet that the document revealed is the Volume tablet. This tablet is scheduled to be released sometime in the second quarter of this year. Other than that, the document doesn’t expose any other information about the tablet.
Although many manufacturers worldwide are producing Android-based tablets, there is still hope that Fujitsu might be able to make some success with the Bacura tablet and the Volume tablet. The United States market, in particular, might be a good starting point for Fujitsu, as it has not been able to penetrate it yet. It is important, though, that the specifications of the tablets be at par with, or even surpass the other tablets available today.
