Samsung Galaxy S III 64GB Spotted in Canada

Samsung Galaxy S III 64GB Spotted in Canada:

Samsung has said from the beginning that their flagship device, the Galaxy S III will be coming in three different versions. So far, we’ve seen both the 16GB version and the 32GB version but the 64GB has been the sneakiest of them all.
Rumors of the 64GB version of the phone being axed has popped up fairly quickly around the World Wide Web which has been being fueled by Samsung’s reluctance to announce anything about a release and even a cancellation. After many days of speculation, Samsung decided that it was to “update” everyone on the 64GB Galaxy S III’s development a few weeks ago. That only made people more frustrated with the vagueness of Samsung’s statements.
That said, today we have received the first actual solid piece of evidence to support the actual existence of the 64GB version of Samsung’s flagship device, the Galaxy S III. Believe it or not, the phone has popped up in the Great White North also known as Canada over at Basatne Electronics’ official website. As far as we know, it’s been up for grabs for a few hours now at a very high price point.
The Canadian seller of Samsung’s Galaxy S3 with the 64GB of internal storage is currently going for a whopping CAD $1,167 or $1168 in U.S Dollars, which as it stands, is absolutely insane. Of course, that is for the unbranded SIM-free version of the phone with free shipping included, but compared to the 32GB’s price, this is ridiculous.
It’s almost obvious that the Basatne Electronics is trying to rip off those who have been looking for the 64GB version of the phone since its release. Considering that the unlocked 32GB Galaxy S III is currently available for around $400 or less at most retailers, there is no doubt that they are trying to rip everyone off. It also should be noted that the Canadians that are offering this quad-core Galaxy S III for a bit over a grand, does not support 4G LTE speeds of any kind and is not on top of many people’s wish lists (we also won’t say that it comes with one gig of RAM instead of two).
It’s obvious that over in Canada money apparently grows on trees all across the country since Basatne Electronics has already listed the 64GB quad-core Galaxy S III as “out of stock.” It’s hard to believe that anyone would purchase it for that price. That or the retailer didn’t have any kind of Galaxy S III 64GB phones to start off with and are simply pulling a publicity stunt to draw in some extra business and/or attention.
Of course, if you harvest the money off of those precious Canadian tree’s you should keep watch for the relisting of the 64GB Galaxy S III. Or maybe you actually don’t want to purchase it from them and save your money for something else like a completely decked out laptop from Dell? Or you could donate that money to Samsung to encourage a speedy release of the 64GB version of the Galaxy S III for other retailers! Either way, it’s your money and it’s completely your choice on how you use it. Even if you want to waste it on something like this…madness. Nonetheless, we can’t wait to see if these people that have supposedly bought this device “out of stock” actually can confirm it.
Will you be purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S III 64GB version for well over $1,000 or will you be waiting for a U.S release for what we hope will be cheaper? Either way, we’d love to hear from you. Feel free to leave a comment below!
