Xperia U update Solves Network Issues, other devices due for an Update.

Xperia U update Solves Network Issues, other devices due for an Update.:

If you’re one of the people experiencing some tough network issues with the Xperia U, your voice has been heard. Sony is pushing out another Android 2.3 Gingerbread update to fix these issues users have been having. According to various reports and forum posts, the update for the Xperia U has been arriving on devices all around Europe. There’s been no word whether it’s hit U.S users just yet. Xperia U users aren’t the only ones having network issues though, users who own a Xperia P, Xperia Go and Xperia Sola (which happens to use the same ST Ericsson NovaThor Chip) are having the same network issues. An update for those devices are currently being pushed to owners, but again there has been no word on U.S updates just yet.
In a post on the companies official community forum, a Sony Xperia Rep had said that the update has been pushed out to fix the offending network issues with these phones. Here’s what he said:

We have received isolated consumer complaints about network selection issues for the products Xperia™ U, Xperia™ P, Xperia™ sola and Xperia™ go in connection with Android 2.3.7 SW version 6.0.B.3.162, successfully resolved by re-starting the phone.
Further optimizations of the network selection procedures were made and affected consumers are recommended to upgrade their handset SW to a new Android 2.3.7 SW version to be available from early August onwards.”

This is good news for those who own the phone. The network issues are finally getting fixed so you’ll be able to finally have full access to the internet. No more Google Play issues, Facebook issues, E-mail issues, phone call and texting issues. Supposedly it’s all fixed and if it isn’t it’s probably best to report that as soon as possible so that they get out a timely update. With these bug issues out of the way now, I’m hoping that the update over to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be swift when it released later into this quarter.
In other news, there’s been rumors floating around the internet that after the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Xperia U, Xperia P, Xperia Go and Xperia Sola they will not be receiving the Jelly Bean update due to the phones being older models. It is most likely that you will have to upgrade to a newer Xperia phone to get the Jelly Bean update.
Again, that’s a rumor floating around various comment sections on various websites. Based on the rumor, I am rather confused as to why they won’t update them. They’re pretty good phones and I think should be upgraded to Jelly Bean. From what I have seen from them it’s perfectly capable of it.
Have you gotten the update for any of the listed Xperia phones? Is your network issues fixed? Tell us how stable it is and if it’s working out for you! We’d love to know if it’s officially been fixed!
